Shipper Receiver - Service Department
Reports To
Service Manager
Summary
The Shipper Receiver will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and seamless processing of incoming and outgoing shipments. Other responsibilities will include the inspection of incoming and outgoing shipments, washing parts, painting and packaging parts, scheduling deliveries, and general shop clean-up.
Job Responsibilities & Duties
· Loading, unloading and unpacking all raw materials and related merchandise both indoors and outdoors.
· Organizing, stacking and banding pallets for removal, communicating to supervisor for pick up.
· Perform physical movement of materials from one area to another using handcarts, forklifts, cranes or pallet jacks.
· Inspection of raw materials received in accordance with specifications.
· Marking of all raw materials by standards.
· Removes surplus material and product after tasks are complete and place back in storage or dispose of trash.
· Deliver material to appropriate location or place material on appropriate shelf, rack or bin within facility.
· Parts pickup and delivery from areas in the shop.
· Disposal of all packing/strapping material.
· Emptying Chip Bins
· Painting products as required
· Process required paperwork
· Assemble skids and crates and pack goods to be shipped
· Assist in Ship Prep and Ship Loose activities.
· Assist Lead Hands/supervisors with training and mentoring other employees.
· Promote a safety culture and attend all safety meetings.
· Ensure quality by following standard work instructions and identifying any potential risks to product quality.
· Conduct final packaging check for conformity of standards.
· Maintain work area and equipment following procedures and safety regulations
· Other duties as required.
Qualifications & Experience
· High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
· 1-2 years of experience in a shipping/receiving environment
· Excellent work ethic and the ability to work independently with little supervision
· Ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment required to do the job
· A valid forklift certification
· Valid crane certification is an asset.
· Highly organized, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and self-motivated to meet deadlines
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
· Ability to read and write English
· Must be adaptable to changing work environment and competing demands and is able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events
Location: Edmonton, AB
Shift: 8:00AM - 4:30PM Monday - Friday
