Rise Arts Company is a rapidly growing arts education organization that provides high-quality visual and performing arts programming for children and youth across Metro Vancouver. We offer after-school programs, studio classes, summer camps, workshops, performances, and community events while partnering with schools, community centres, and local organizations to inspire creativity, confidence, and a lifelong love of the arts.
As our organization continues to grow, we're looking for an organized, proactive, and dependable After School Programs Coordinator to support the daily operations of our after-school programs. Position Summary
The After School Programs Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring our programs run smoothly by supporting and managing a team of instructors, communicating with families and community partners, coordinating logistics, and providing operational support throughout the school year.
Hours
- Approximately 14-16 hours per week
- Tuesday to Friday
- Primarily weekday afternoons (approximately 1:30 PM – 5:30 PM)
- Flexible administrative hours outside of program times
- Occasional evening and/or weekend meetings, staff training sessions, and special events as required
Responsibilities & Program Operations
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of after-school programs across multiple locations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for instructors during program hours.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to instructors.
- Troubleshoot operational challenges and coordinate solutions.
- Assist in coordinating substitute instructors when needed.
- Conduct occasional visits to schools and sites.
- Help maintain Rise Arts Company's high standards for program quality, safety, and professionalism.
Administration
- Respond to parent, school, and community partner inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist with seasonal program and staff scheduling and logistics.
- Maintain attendance records and program documentation.
- Organize and manage program supplies and materials.
- Support instructor onboarding and seasonal staff training.
- Assist with administrative projects and operational planning.
Team Support
- Foster positive relationships with instructors, families, schools, and community partners.
- Help create a positive and collaborative team culture.
- Support the continued growth and success of Rise Arts Company's programming!
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who is:
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Professional, dependable, and proactive.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A confident problem solver who enjoys supporting others.
- Passionate about working with children and supporting arts education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience coordinating programs, camps, recreation, or educational programming.
- Experience working with children in schools, childcare, recreation, or arts organizations.
- Leadership or supervisory experience is considered an asset.
- Strong administrative, organizational, and customer service skills.
Requirements
Applicants must have (or willing to obtain):
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C Certification.
- A successful Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- A valid BC Driver's Licence.
- Reliable access to a personal vehicle during all scheduled working hours.
- The ability to travel between program locations throughout Metro Vancouver.
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting wage of $22.50/hour during the three-month probationary period.
- $24.00/hour upon successful completion of probation.
- Approximately 14-16 hours per week during the school year.

Please note that this position follows the school-year calendar and includes scheduled breaks during periods when programs are not operating, including Winter Break and Spring Break.
