Doepker Industries is a leading Canadian manufacturer of highway semi-trailers. We are continually developing new and innovative designs for our customers across Canada and have won awards and been recognized for business excellence and innovation since 1948.
We are looking for a permanent, full-time Designer to join our team at our Annaheim, Saskatchewan location.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will provide efficient and consistent support to the design team by performing detailed analysis and creating designs in keeping with our customers’ expectations.
Key accountabilities include:
· Efficiently prepare complete, detailed design packages by learning, understanding and applying all regulatory and legal requirements that pertain to semi-trailer design
· Learn, understand, and use company procedures, engineering standards and design tools such as SolidWorks, ERP, etc.
· Work and communicate with people in other departments and suppliers in a professional manner
· Share ideas to contribute to process improvements and show initiative by offering suggestions on ways to improve product design, quality, and enhance manufacturability
· Help provide answers and solutions to production staff when problems arise

· Willingness to learn and gain experience and knowledge in the transportation industry and in the company’s various product lines (existing knowledge of the transportation industry would be an asset)

· The drive to stay current with industry technology, new advancements and knowledge
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS
· An Engineering Degree or Technology Diploma from a recognized school along with additional training in mechanical design, computers, and CAD software
· Engineers should be eligible to register with APEGS; technologists should be eligible to register with SASTT
