Unit 11 Inc - a is a temporary production staffing company that serves primarily the tv/film, entertainment, fashion, and marketing industries. We are currently seeking motivated and hardworking team players for our onsite crew. The position title is “Stagehand”, as outlined and detailed below. Stagehands are our onsite crew for installing and dismantling projects based on given deadlines. Stagehands are booked with at least a 24 hour notice of where and when to be, as well as what tools and gears they must have with them. Job sites may vary from working indoors and outdoors. (For example: jobs can vary from working retail display, event staging or installing temporary walls) Stagehands are on-call, based on interest and availability. Strong performers will be offered plenty of work based on feedback from onsite supervisors.
Applicant Attributes: This position requires the following of an Applicant:
- Strong work ethic, excellent attendance and the ability to work on a team
- Safety consciousness (Must have!)
- Customer-service Skills
- Hand-eye Coordination
- Ability to use standard/ basic tools such as a hammer, drill & wrench
- Physical Stamina- must be able to work on your feet for long periods at a time
- Applicant must capable of lifting 50 lbs.
- Must be able to follow supervisor instructions and work well with hands
- Must maintain a clean and organized work space
- Must own/have all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) needed at all times, including steel toes, hard hat and vest
- Ability to assist with loading and unloading of trucks for each project
- Ability to travel is an asset
There are many different types of stagehands. Stagehands can be any or all of the below skill sets.
- Carpenter
- Lift Op/ Fork Op/ Telehandler/ Boom Op etc.
- Rigger- High & Ground
- Painter
- Lighting/ Audio/ Video
- General Labour
Having had any of the following training’s and licenses listed below is an asset, but is not mandatory:
- WHMIS
- First Aid
- CPR
- Health & Safety
- Fork Lift License etc.
- Fall Protection (Fall Elimination, Fall Protection, Fall Arrest & Fall Protection)
- Working at Heights
- Suspended Work Platform
- Elevated Work Platform/ Aerial Work Platform
