Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our maintenance team in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills to ensure the optimal operation of heavy machinery and equipment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse systems, including programmable logic controllers and industrial electrical components, contributing to the efficiency and safety of our operations.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment and machinery.
- Maintain and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, and electrical components.
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for work order management and maintenance scheduling.
- Conduct welding, HVAC repairs, boiler maintenance, and other mechanical tasks as needed.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and mechanical/electrical diagrams for troubleshooting and repairs.
- Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Collaborate with other maintenance team members to diagnose complex issues and implement effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean work environment.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal client needs promptly and professionally.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance or manufacturing environments with a focus on heavy equipment repair.
- Strong mechanical knowledge coupled with electrical experience, including low voltage systems.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, CMMS software, and analysis skills for troubleshooting complex systems.
- Experience with welding, HVAC systems, boiler maintenance, and industrial electrician tasks is highly desirable.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Good communication skills in English for effective teamwork and customer service interactions.
- Relevant certifications or training in industrial electrician work, welding, or HVAC is a plus.
