The Career Foundation is looking for a Bus Driver (Senior Community Transportation)
Location: Toronto, ON (Leaside area – Luxury Retirement Residence )
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and safety-focused Bus Driver to support daily transportation services for older adults in a newly opening luxury retirement residence in Toronto’s Leaside neighbourhood. This role is part of a founding team helping shape a high-quality lifestyle experience for senior community members.

About the Role
The Bus Driver will report to the Lifestyle Manager and play a key role in ensuring safe, reliable, and comfortable transportation for community members. This includes supporting mobility needs, promoting independence, and contributing to a positive and welcoming environment.
This position requires professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to older adults.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport community members safely to and from scheduled destinations following planned routes and timelines
- Ensure safe loading, unloading, and secure transportation of passengers, including proper use of wheelchair lifts and mobility equipment
- Secure wheelchairs and mobility aids safely on the vehicle
- Operate the bus in compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Maintain passenger comfort by regulating heating and ventilation systems
- Complete basic operational logs and incident reports as required
- Ensure regular vehicle checks and coordinate maintenance needs
- Follow all emergency and evacuation procedures as trained
- Comply with all organizational policies including safe driving practices and in-vehicle conduct rules
- Report any safety, driving, or service concerns promptly to the supervisor
- Participate in mandatory training sessions and ongoing development opportunities
- Maintain a high standard of customer service and act as a role model for respectful engagement with seniors
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Valid Class F driver’s licence (or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years of verifiable driving experience
- Clean driving record with no convictions in the past 15 years
- Strong knowledge of road safety laws and driving regulations
- Experience operating accessible vehicles and securing mobility devices preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with mobility support tasks
- Comfortable working with older adults and providing respectful, patient service
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written)
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

- Hourly wage: $26/hour
