Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to join our hospitality team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring a smooth dining experience. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong sense of hospitality, and experience in food service or restaurant environments. This position offers an opportunity to develop customer service skills and gain valuable experience in the hospitality industry.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage waitlists efficiently
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus with enthusiasm
- Manage reservations and seating arrangements using POS systems such as Micros POS
- Answer phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette and assist with reservation bookings
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand area
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and service
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, or special requests with professionalism and courtesy
- Assist in maintaining a positive atmosphere within the restaurant environment
Requirements
- Previous experience in guest services, serving, or hospitality is preferred
- Strong communication skills and excellent phone etiquette
- Knowledge of POS systems, particularly Micros POS, is a plus
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism and poise
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Experience in food service or restaurant settings is advantageous
- Hotel or hospitality experience is a plus but not required
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
