Chebucto Family Centre is a community hub located in Spryfield, Chebucto Family Centre offers free programs and services regarding advocacy, resource navigation, practical support, wellness, prenatal, Doula services, parenting and child and youth development. In addition, Chebucto Family Centre operates as a Home Child Care Agency.
Our mission is to nurture and enhance the quality of life of families through the delivery of community-based programs and services.
Position Description:
The Director of Programs (DOP) is a senior management role that oversees the coordination and implementation of general Chebucto Family Centre (CFC) programming, in alignment with CFC’s Mission Statement.
The DOP will supervise and support the orientation, supervision and reflective practices for select program positions and is responsible to contribute to the growth of funding opportunities for CFC, by way of community-based grants and other viable opportunities. Taking a collaborative lead in community outreach regarding CFC programming and Mission is in alignment with the DOP role.
Human Resources:
- Provide mentorship and support to program leaders to empower and support their supervisory responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Executive Director for the hiring of program positions
- Ensure that staff are provided with professional development opportunities
- Coordinates volunteers and student placements
- Reflective Supervision for Parenting Journey Home Visitors
Administrative Support:
- Overseeing the tracking, monitoring, evaluation of monthly programs to inform programming
- Coordinate and produce AGM report
Financial/Funding
- Seek and submit grants applications and explore other community-based funding opportunities relevant to programming
- Manage the implementation and reporting duties of successful grants
- Maintain up to date financial records or past, current and potential grant opportunities
Community Collaboration:
- Develop and maintain relationships with community partners for information sharing, program partnerships, referrals and advocacy
- Develop and maintain relationships with educational institutions by providing educational student placements
- Seek out opportunities to education potential partners about the Chebucto Family Centre
