The Restaurant Supervisor will support the food & beverage operations to create a guest experience that exceeds expectations and ensures a positive work environment. The ideal candidate for this position is friendly, detail oriented, and able to handle the physical demands of the job. A successful candidate will be required to work various shifts including evenings, weekends and statutory holidays. *Must haveTHURSDAY, FRIDAY and SATURDAY/SUNDAY evening availability*
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Ensure that guests are greeted upon arrival and questions or concerns are promptly and courteously resolved by providing exceptional customer service
· Supervise the floor during meal periods to ensure that all Coast standards and steps of service are met
· Guarantee that checklists, requisitions and proper opening and closing functions are being completed each shift
· Oversee the staff in the restaurant, poolside patio and room service in order to attract, retain and motivate the employees; hire, schedule, train, develop, empower, coach and counsel, conduct performance reviews, resolve problems, provide open communication within the department
· Manage the operations of the restaurant, room service and lounge to ensure compliance with SOPs, safety regulations and provincial health orders to ensure an optimal level of service, quality and hospitality are provided
· Forecast, implement, monitor, control and report on the restaurant (labor costs, beverage costs, supplies, equipment, etc...) to maximize revenue and minimize expenses
· Create, recommend and implement promotions, displays, food presentations and ideas to capture more in house guests and a larger share of the local market.
· Monitor and control the maintenance/sanitation of the restaurant to protect the assets, comply with regulations and ensure quality service
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skill Requirements:
· Required to work various shifts including evenings, weekends and statutory holidays
· Must hold a valid Serving It Right™ Certificate
· A post-graduate diploma or certificate in restaurant or hotel management is an asset
· Hospitality industry experience in a restaurant supervisory role
· Excellent communications skills both oral and written when dealing with guests and employees both internally and externally
· Strong working knowledge of restaurant industry principles, methods, practices, and techniques
· CPR Certification and/or First Aid training an asset
