Position Overview
A Reconstruction Drywall is responsible for helping those who have been affected by fire or flood damage either in residential or commercial environments.
Duties and Responsibilities…

Efficiently measure, cut, and install drywall sheets in damaged areas.

Perform drywall repairs, fill joints, patch holes, cracks, nail indentations etc.

Apply joint compound, skillfully filling in seams, joints, and nail/screw indentations.

Perform major repairs using fast set to prepare paint/texture

Texture blend
-
Remove imperfections through sanding, scraping, and feathering to ensure a flawless appearance.

Tape, coat, skim, sand to prepare for paint

Install T-bar grid/ ceiling tile

Finishing arches
-
Insulation/vapor barrier
-
Hang board
-
Tape, mud bring to paint stage

Seal new drywall
-
Texture ceilings –popcorn and knockdown
Health and Safety
-
Ensure that self and others adhere to Universal’s health and safety practices and procedures

Ensure good housekeeping is kept to perform work safely and efficiently

Understand safety policies and protocols

Ensure that self and others on site are wearing all required PPE, when required
Who we are looking for:
-
Previous work experience working in the Restoration industry would be an asset.

At least 2 years of experience in drywall is preferred
-
The physical ability to bend, reach, lift 50 pounds safely and repeatedly and stand throughout your shift.

An eagerness to bulk your paycheck with overtime hours as we are a 24/7 emergency services company, and all positions will have a component of on-call work on a rotational basis.

A great attitude and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done and serve our customers. We have a fun and hard-working team and are looking for someone with the skills to complement them.

The ability to wear personal protective equipment to keep you safe on site, including a respirator. Facial hair that will allow you to wear a respirator safely is limited to a clean shave, a moustache and/or a small goatee.

A driver’s license and personal vehicle to attend on call sites is a must (mileage is reimbursed).

We enter people’s homes and drive company vehicles, so a clean criminal record as it relates to work and a drivers abstract with only minor infractions is required.
Working Conditions:

Must be flexible to work overtime, evenings, and weekends on occasion.
