Job Description
MISSION
The Director, Finance Operations is a process driven leader who is responsible for overseeing various operational areas of accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales audit and payroll. The position will also execute and provide accurate and timely support for all financial reporting activities.
This role is responsible for being a key business partner to the Executive Team and Senior Leadership Team in supporting strategic business and operational decisions.
KEY PERFORMANCE METRICS

Management of key operational functions in the organization

Leading a complex payables function

Assisting in cash flow forecasting, including payables forecasting

Timely and accurate preparation of management reporting

Meaningful involvement as accounting representative in various IT implementations

Ability to develop and execute on process improvements that drive accuracy and efficiency

Timely response to internal queries for information and/or assistance

Development of high functioning teams through strong leadership and implementation of a training and development program

Positive feedback from both internal and external contacts

Policy and practice adherence while also ensuring IFRS compliance
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Functional
-
Oversee and ensure the accurate and timely completion of various accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales audit and payroll.

Accountable for leading payroll for the organization that includes accurate processing and distribution of payroll (Canada & US), payroll systems and all legislative requirements

Work with finance and accounting teams to prepare regular cash reporting and forecasting, including detailed forecasting of upcoming liabilities

Manage payables process for the Company, including managing vendor relationships

Support and assist with, when necessary, the internal and external audit

Focus on process improvement, concentrating on driving efficiencies while maintaining reporting accuracy

Assist from a finance perspective with the implementation of changing digital IT tools

Ensure the execution of team deliverables and adapt team priorities based on changing needs

Set and adhere to team budgets

Proactively identify and anticipate internal customer expectations & needs and always place them at the forefront of all design and decision-making processes

Challenge the status quo by consistently identifying areas for improvement, diagnosing issues and working to resolve them

Support Indigo goals by executing on short to mid-term departmental goals (1 year)

Maintain a high level of strategic foresight by identifying customer and business needs, and adjusting departmental and team objectives accordingly

Qualifications
Work Experience / Education / Certifications

CPA designation prefered
-
University degree in Accounting, Business or Finance

Minimum of 7 years of experience in controllership, and/or finance operations
-
Minimum of 5 years of management experience with increasing leadership roles, including leading large teams having a mix of transactional and professional staff
Competencies / Skills / Attributes

Proficient in SAP

Understanding of IFRS

Knowledge of Finance and HR technologies

Exceptional written and oral communication skills

Ability to work with people at all levels of the organization

Strong knowledge in Excel, Word and Powerpoint
