Position Summary:
The Technical Inside Sales Representative is responsible for effectively processing and following up on incoming client’s requests for quotes (RFQs) and information (RFIs) while working collaboratively with internal resources to ensure these and any other client needs are addressed in a timely and knowledgeable manner.
This position is functionally accountable for managing the incoming RFQ and RFQ processes, documenting the opportunities in the CRM system, processing order entry into the ERP system, securing all requirements for release to manufacture, initiating the handover to production of sales orders, and managing all communications and information exchange with customers throughout the order fulfilment process.
Key performance metrics of the position are quote accuracy and timely delivery of quotes.
Key Accountabilities:
- Promptly acknowledge all incoming instrument RFQ’s.
- Promptly evaluate and triage all incoming RFQ’s with support from Regional Sales Managers and/or Application Specialists.
- Coordinate Customer Meetings as required to discuss quotation requirements and scope of supply as required.
- Prepare instrument quotations with support from the Regional Sales Managers and/or Application Specialists.
- Ensure the quotations are accurate, complete, unambiguous, and structured to protect the company from commercial risk.
- Become an advocate and expert user of the CRM system Zoho.
- Process incoming Purchase Orders by acknowledging receipt of order and accurately entering the orders into the ERP system.
- Ensure all pre-manufacturing financial and technical criteria are met.
- Coordinate Sales Order Handoff Meetings to transfer order ownership to Manufacturing.
- Maintain continuous communication with the customer as to the status of their orders during the order fulfillment stage.
- Develop and Maintain the Sales Quotation SOP.
Cross-Functional Relations
- Accountable for the timely and accurate handover of all incoming orders to the Manufacturing team.
- Dependent on Finance for the timely issuance and status reporting of order milestone payments and LC management.
- Dependent on Manufacturing for the timely and accurate supply of “on the dock” timing of instrument orders.
- Dependent on Supply Chain and Logistics for accurate and timely shipment of orders.
- Dependent on Quality/Drafting for issuance of IFA Drawings
- Dependent on Product Specialists for scope definition and verification.
- Dependent on Regional Account Managers for account coordination and strategy.
- Dependent on Supply Chain for cost and lead times of non-stock items.
Qualifications:
(education, certifications, experience):
- 5+ years of experience in an inside sales role.
- Bachelor’s or Technical Degree (preferably in instrumentation, engineering, or chemistry)
- Ability to lead business meetings.
- Proficiency in office management software, including MS Office.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.

- Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software.
- Good understanding of impact of customer’s commercial terms and conditions on commercial risk.
