The Vision Centre Manager is responsible for all day-to-day activities affecting the people, operations and merchandise in the Wal-Mart Vision Centre. The Vision Centre Manager must also see that the Vision Centre operates according to Wal-Mart policy, professional standards, provincial and federal regulations.
- Administer, support and represent the core corporate values of Respect for the Individual, Service to our Customer and Striving for Excellence. • Various personnel duties including interviewing, scheduling using Customer Service Scheduling (CSS), evaluations, training and coaching with support from the Store Manager. • Establish and develop a strong working relationship with Division 1 Management and Professional Services District Manager. • Responsible for the regular care of the Vision Centre by ensuring a proper appearance and hospital clean environment for Staff, Patients, and Doctors. • Manage and control the P&L, claims, shrink, inventory and markdowns. • Executing competition surveys, marketing and merchandising plans. • Work closely with the Store Manager, District Manager and Optical Buyers to increase Vision Centre sales and ensure Wal-Mart’s merchandising standards are maintained. • Manage the flow of customers orders. • Review records and reports to determine compliance with Company operational expectations. • Participation in weekly Store Management meetings. • Operate Vision Centre computer, register equipment and other assigned tools. • Protecting company assets.
Canada Walmart Division
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Completion of a Diploma in Opticianry and a License from the provincial College of Opticians is highly preferred. • 1-2 years of prior experience in Optical or Retail Management. • Excellent understanding of lenses, frames and contact lens products. • Ability to work under minimal supervision. • Solid written and verbal communication skills. • Strong leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills. • Substantial attention-to-detail. • Creativity in merchandising in order to increase sales and profitability. • Ability to undertake or initiate special projects. • Takes responsibility for decisions made and actions taken. • Ability to work 40 hours a week including days, evening and weekends on a rotating schedule.
