Summary
Reporting directly to the Senior Director, Business & Retail Development, the Data Analyst has the opportunity to start their career in data management and data analysis within a collaborative environment. The incumbent will play a key role in analyzing sales and purchase data, providing valuable insights that drive business performance and support accurate, strategic reporting with a focus on retail pharmacy.
Location
This position is primarily office-based. Our team currently operates from our Markham office for a minimum of three days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely for the remaining days. The organization retains the right to adjust this hybrid arrangement, potentially requiring more frequent office attendance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Data Analysis - Collect, analyze, and interpret large retail data datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support business strategies.
Data Accuracy & Integrity: Conduct regular audits of retail data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity across the organization’s systems.
Report Generation: Extract, analyze, and report on data related to store performance, sales trends and other key data indicators.
Data Visualization: Create and maintain dashboards and reports using tools like Excel, Power BI, to automate data retrieval, visualization, and reporting processes.
Data Management: Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security while managing databases and data sources. Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of the data.
Support End-Users: Provide training and support to end-users on the tools used to extract and generate reports and best practices.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and develop customized reports that meet business objectives.
Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management, Business Analytics, or experience in a related field.
- Strong understanding of the MS Office 365 suite, including Excel and Access.
- Familiarity with database reporting tools such as Microsoft SQL Server and Power BI.
- Working knowledge of retail data structures and reports (e.g., sales reports) is an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and explain complex data to a non-technical audience.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Salary
Base salary $60,000- 70,000, annual bonus, RRSP, and comprehensive benefits package.
