Huron is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, organized individual with excellent organizational and communication skills to assess prospective student applications for admission. The purpose of the Recruitment & Admissions Office is to attract top quality applicants to Huron University through the efforts of the national and international recruitment plans. Reporting to the Director, Recruitment & Admissions, the Admissions Officer will be responsible for supporting applicants throughout the admission process and assessing applications for admission, both domestically and internationally.
§ A minimum of three (3) years experience in a post-secondary or educational setting.
§ Understanding of the major Arts and Social Science disciplines and Theology majors taught at Huron.
§ Detailed knowledge and understanding of university academic rules, regulations, requirements, and the impact on prospective students related to admissions.
§ Exceptional oral and written communication skills and ability to interact positively with prospective students, high schools, guidance counselors, and the general public in a variety of settings.
§ Excellent time management skills and a demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
§ Demonstrated ability to problem-solve effectively and use good judgement in all decisions.
§ Proficiency with MS Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and familiarity with PeopleSoft and / or other CRM database software would be considered an asset.
This 7-months contract role, with the possibility of extension, ending April 30, 2022.
