Job Overview
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Wedding and Event Decorator to join our team. This role involves designing and executing beautiful decor arrangements for weddings, receptions, and various special events. The ideal candidate will have a passion for aesthetics, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and vendors to bring visions to life. Experience in hospitality, guest services, or restaurant/hotel environments is a plus, along with strong communication and time management skills.
Duties
- Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and preferences for event decor
- Plan and design decor layouts, including floral arrangements, table settings, lighting, draping, and other decorative elements
- Source and select appropriate decor materials within budget constraints
- Set up and decorate event spaces prior to the event start time, ensuring all elements are arranged according to plan
- Coordinate with vendors, venue staff, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless execution
- Manage the breakdown and cleanup of decor after events
- Upsell additional decor services or enhancements to clients during consultations
- Maintain an organized inventory of decor supplies and equipment
- Provide excellent guest services by ensuring the decor enhances the overall event experience
Skills
- Strong background in marketing, customer service, hospitality, or related fields such as restaurant or hotel experience and decorating experience
- Excellent communication skills for client consultations and vendor coordination
- Demonstrated ability in negotiation and upselling to enhance client satisfaction and business growth
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Effective time management to meet tight deadlines during setup and teardown phases
- Budgeting skills to plan decor within financial constraints while maintaining quality standards
- Creativity and an eye for detail in designing visually appealing arrangements
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also taking initiative independently
- Experience in guest services or hospitality industries is highly desirable
