EY Orenda Corporate Finance Inc., a specialty practice within EY's Strategy and Transactions sub-service line, is the dominant mid-market investment bank in Canada. The Opportunity

We are looking for a Coordinator, Regulatory, Quality and Risk who will become an important member of the SaT regulatory, quality and risk team. Working closely with the Quality Leader/Chief Compliance Officer and practice leadership you will contribute to the effectiveness and continuous improvement of SaT regulatory, quality and risk processes and the practice in its business and market development activities. You will administer and facilitate firm and staff securities registration and licensing procedures, supporting accurate and timely completion of all applications and filings and satisfaction of qualification requirements, liaising with Canadian and US regulators as required. You will administer record-keeping processes to ensure records are accurate and complete. You will act as a source of regulatory, quality and risk information and guidance for professionals within our Corporate Finance businesses and across our SaT business overall.

Responsibilities

Administers and drives the accurate and timely completion of documented procedures, such as securities registration of SaT and foreign associated professionals, marketing materials reviews, Anti-Money Laundering program searches, regulatory fee payments and filings, outside business activity monitoring, and brokerage statement reviews.
Administers Exempt Market Dealer and Broker Dealer supervisory and record keeping processes, interacting with EY practitioners globally, ensuring firm regulatory, quality and risk requirements are met.
Serves as an information resource for partners and professionals on areas of responsibility, including consulting with regulatory and licensing authorities and Quality, Risk Management, Finance, Marketing and Training functions as required.
Applies developing knowledge to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement of regulatory, quality and risk processes, practices and policies.
Provides administrative support for various internal and regulatory audits and enquiries, preparing, collecting and coordinating information and documents.
Builds a collaborative network of people across the firm and in other functions, such as Risk Management, Marketing, Human Resources, Finance, Training and Legal in support of regulatory, quality and risk initiatives and effectiveness.
Undertakes and manages the accurate and timely completion of ad hoc and recurring reports and projects related to areas of responsibility.
Understands the firm structure, business strategies, service lines and key requirements of firm and regulator rules and policies.
Plans and organizes own work and keeps others informed of status and activities.

Skills and Experience

Diploma/certificate in a regulatory, quality, risk management, or compliance educational program
2 to 5 years of experience working in a regulatory, quality, risk management, or compliance function will be preferred
Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills will be an asset
Proven ability to proactively manage a dynamic workload to meet conflicting deadliness and maintain quality output
Proven program or project administration skills
Bilingual, (French) will be an asset
Strong relationship building, interpersonal and communication skills
A team player, with a positive attitude and a desire to work cooperatively with others to achieve group and organizational goals
A true service provider focused on identifying and serving the needs of stakeholders, with a willingness to adapt to and work effectively within a variety of diverse situations and groups or individuals
A detail-oriented employee, with ability to exercise judgement to resolve a variety of problems in a time-sensitive manner – but also knows the power of consultation to get to the right answer
Proficient computer user with strong spreadsheet, word processing, and communication software skills
