About the Role
Trux Accessories is looking for an Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day execution of our distribution and warehouse operations in Laval. This is a hands-on, floor-focused leadership role, accountable for the flow from inbound purchase orders through receiving, warehousing, order fulfillment, shipment, and customer delivery — along with warehouse productivity, execution accuracy, and service levels.
This is not a desk-based role. You'll be on the floor daily: coaching the team, resolving operational exceptions, enforcing SOP and system discipline, and driving measurable process improvement — working closely with Inventory, Purchasing, Customer Service, Finance, and 3PL partners.
Key Responsibilities Distribution & Order Flow
- Own execution and coordination of the flow from purchase order through receiving, warehousing, fulfillment, shipment, and delivery — ensuring accuracy, timeliness, productivity, and consistency at every stage.
Warehouse Floor Leadership
- Maintain a strong daily floor presence, overseeing receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, packing, staging, and shipping.
- Set daily priorities, allocate resources, monitor workflow and backlog, and ensure shipping commitments are met on time.
Operational Exception Management
- Own day-to-day resolution of operational exceptions — damaged shipments, carrier issues, warehouse problems — driving root-cause corrective action to reduce recurrence.
Process Improvement
- Identify inefficiencies across warehouse and distribution processes; design, implement, and monitor practical, data-driven improvements with relevant internal teams.
- Track and report the measurable impact on productivity, cost, accuracy, and service levels.
WMS & Systems
- Ensure warehouse staff fully and accurately use the WMS and SAP (or comparable ERP) for receiving, inventory movement, picking, packing, shipping, and transfers, so physical activity consistently follows approved system workflows.
SOP & Process Discipline
- Ensure SOPs are consistently followed across receiving, picking, packing, shipping, transfers, and exception handling.
- Identify process gaps and partner with relevant teams to develop and implement corrective procedures.
People Leadership & Accountability
- Lead, coach, and develop warehouse staff; set clear performance expectations and address recurring performance or compliance issues.
- Ensure staffing, cross-training, and backup coverage for critical functions to maintain operational continuity.
Operational Performance & KPIs
- Monitor and manage KPIs including throughput, backlog, shipping accuracy, on-time shipment, productivity, and error rates.
- Establish daily operating routines; ensure issues are resolved or escalated promptly.
Inventory Process Partnership
- Partner with the Inventory Analyst to investigate operational causes of inventory discrepancies and correct them within warehouse processes.
- Ensure staff follow approved inventory movement, transfer, hold, release, and transaction procedures. (Detailed analysis, reconciliation, and reporting remain the Inventory Analyst's responsibility.)
3PL & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate execution with external 3PL partners and internal teams — Purchasing, Customer Service, Finance, Inventory — on transfers, receiving, shipping priorities, and resolution of operational exceptions across locations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in a distribution environment.
- Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken, required to communicate effectively with 3PL partners, suppliers, carriers, and other external business partners.
- Strong, hands-on WMS experience required; SAP preferred, comparable ERP considered.
- Demonstrated understanding of the full flow: purchase order, receipt, warehousing, shipment, delivery.
- Experience managing operational exceptions (damaged shipments, carrier issues, discrepancies).
- Track record of process improvement in a distribution or warehouse operations setting.
- Strong analytical, process-oriented problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable owning day-to-day operational outcomes; ready to execute from day one.
- Demonstrated floor leadership: workload planning, coaching, accountability, performance management.
- Experience developing, implementing, and enforcing warehouse SOPs and standardized processes.
- Experience managing warehouse KPIs — productivity, shipping accuracy, backlog, service levels.
- Experience building cross-training and backup coverage for critical operational functions.
- Experience turning around an operation with recurring errors, inconsistent processes, or weak execution discipline strongly preferred.
