Key Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle accounting operations, including AR, AP, general ledger, and month-end/year-end close
- Manage and review progress billing, including percentage-of-completion accounting, WIP reporting, holdbacks, and lien compliance
- Administer and oversee union payroll, including remittances, benefits contributions, and collective agreement compliance
- Develop and maintain robust financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, project costing, cash flow planning, and strategic decision-making
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and management reports
- Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and project profitability
- Ensure compliance with HST, WSIB, CRA remittances, and other regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions
- Strengthen internal controls, policies, and financial reporting processes
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior leadership
Qualifications
- CPA designation (preferred) or actively pursuing CPA
- 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience
- Experience in construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, or other project-based industries
- Strong knowledge of progress billing, WIP schedules, and contract accounting
- Direct experience managing union payroll and related reporting requirements
- Proven experience building and maintaining financial models (budgeting, forecasting, scenario analysis, and cash flow modelling)
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, financial modelling best practices)
- Experience with accounting/ERP systems (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, QuickBooks, or similar)
- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills
- Knowledge of Ontario employment standards and payroll legislation

Pay: $80,000.00-$120,500.00 per year
