Sun Transportation Systems is an asset-based transportation company. We provide FTL transportation services from and to Canada and the United States. We are looking for motivated individuals to work as planners based out of ourterminalin Bolton, ON.
Responsibilities will include coordinating pickups and deliveries, communicating with drivers and ensuring all shipments are tracked on time, and speaking to the customer proactively when needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day communication, via phone and ELDs, with an assigned fleet of drivers to ensure proper load instructions are passed along and carried out
- Following up with drivers to ensure they follow the correct procedure to arrive and depart locations
- Co-ordinate loads to ensure the best time efficiency and on-time pickup and delivery scores
- Manage service concerns, as required, to limit exposure and minimize the impact on the customer
- Assist other dispatch staff as required during spikes in workload
- Assist other dispatch staff as required by preparing and analyzing various reports
- Provide Drivers with the correct information and equipment to create a positive customer experience from start to finish
Qualifications:
- Years of Experience Required: 3 year of planning or dispatching experience.
- Experience with TransPlus Fleet Manager is an asset
- Samsara & Workflow knowledge is an asset
- Ability to multi-task and willingness to learn
- Initiative taker
- Excellent customer service skills
- Solid interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), organizational, and time management skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suites
- Ability to work with minimal supervision under pressure and time constraints in a stressful environment
