Overview
We are looking for an experienced General Foreman to lead day‑to‑day field operations on heavy civil/commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader who can coordinate crews, equipment, and subcontractors while maintaining a strong focus on safety, schedule, and quality.
Work location is Moncton Based.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of site crews and subcontractors
- Plan work sequences, manpower, and equipment needs with the Superintendent/Project Manager
- Enforce site safety policies, conduct toolbox talks, and ensure compliance with OH&S regulations
- Read and interpret drawings, specs, and layouts, and ensure work is built to plan
- Monitor productivity, material usage, and equipment to keep projects on schedule
- Assist with site layout, problem‑solving, and on‑the‑spot decisions to keep work moving
- Complete daily reports, time sheets, and basic site documentation
- Communicate clearly with management, inspectors, and clients as needed
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in construction, with at least 2–3 years in a foreman or lead hand role (civil, concrete, earthworks, or structural preferred)
- Strong understanding of construction methods, equipment, and site safety
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to direct and mentor crews
- Valid driver’s license; ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
- Tickets (e.g., WHMIS, First Aid, equipment tickets) are an asset
