Haul-All Equipment Ltd is seeking a Buyer. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the successful candidate will focus on sourcing the components required to manufacture the product portfolio of Haul-All Equipment Systems (www.haulall.com) and Sure Flame (www.sureflame.ca).
Initially, this is an 18 month position to cover a maternity leave.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, negotiate, and procure electrical, hydraulic and power transmission components to manufacture the Haul-All Equipment Systems and Sure Flame portfolio of products.
- Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and proactively handle supply problems.
- Maintain & monitor system data as it relates to products and purchase orders (PO due dates, inventory levels, back orders, pricing, etc.)
- Work closely with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms & maintain strong relationships.
- Follow up on non-conformance and supplier performance issues.
- Develop a good understanding of ERP (Epicor) functionalities and work closely with the team for system enhancements.
- Support inventory control and associated functions
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects
- Other duties and responsibilities as required
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business/Supply Chain/Mechanical engineering and/or 5+ years of experience in procurement and sourcing in a manufacturing environment
- Strong proficiency in using ERP and technology and software relevant to purchasing and inventory management.
- Sound working knowledge of MS Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, Teams).
- Effective communication (verbal and written) and negotiation skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to optimize processes and make data-driven decisions.
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy
- Leadership skills and project management experience is an asset
- Freight/Logistics experience an asset.
- CPM, CPSM, APP, or other purchasing credentials considered an asset
