Lawlor Safety is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our team and support the day-to-day financial operations of the business.
The Accounting Manager will play a key role in managing core accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting the company’s ongoing growth. This position is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who is organized, analytical, and looking to grow within a dynamic business environment. The successful candidate will also provide leadership and oversight to a small Accounting team while working extensively within NetSuite ERP.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee and support a team of 3 employees within the accounting/administration function.
- Manage full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Utilize NetSuite ERP for daily accounting operations, reporting, reconciliations, and financial data management.
- Process bi-weekly payroll administration and related remittances.
- Prepare customer invoicing and monitor collections.
- Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare and submit government filings including HST/GST remittances and related reporting.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations.
- Support inventory accounting and reporting functions.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate financial information.
- Assist with financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis.
- Help improve accounting procedures and internal controls.
- Liaise with external accountants and auditors as required.
- Other related duties as required.
Background and Experience Required
- A diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; the pursuit of CPA designation is considered an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience in a similar work environment is required.
- Minimum 5 years of payroll processing in a similar work environment is required.
- Previous experience managing a small accounting department required.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Experience using ERP/accounting software is required; experience with NetSuite ERP is strongly preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience in distribution, wholesale, manufacturing, or industrial products industries is considered an asset.
