We currently have a Temporary Part Time opportunity for a Nurse Practioner in the Covid Assessment Centre at our Bayview Campus.
Sunnybrook is set to expand its COVID-19 Screening Centre and is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to be a key member of the NP Led Clinic. The Assessment Centres are Ministry of Health mandated clinics operating to provide screening of stable patients who seek diagnosis for COVID-19. The Nurse Practitioner reports to the Operations Director and to the Professional Lead for NPs.
Summary of Duties
COVID-19 Assessment Centres provide comprehensive screening, assessment, testing and disposition management for mildly symptomatic and “worried well” members of the public who either self-present or are referred for assessment for COVID-19.
Assesses clients presenting for COVID-19 screening, orders appropriate testing, provides counselling and ensures referral to the appropriate Public Health Department for follow up
Works within the scope of practice of the RN (EC), performs a comprehensive health or symptom directed assessment of the client
Ensures that standards of patient care are maintained according to the Standards of Nursing Practice, the Standards of Practice for Nurses in the Extended Class, as well as the Regulated Health Professionals Act and the Nurses' Act.
Working in collaboration within the inter-professional team, provides advanced nursing care and treatment (including pharmacological complementary therapies and/or counselling interventions for health problem).
NPs in this clinic will authorize directives for RNs and RPNs working in the Assessment Center
Maintains accurate and timely records. Write reports, support letters, clients’ files, outcome measurement tools and chart summaries for transfer and/or legal purposes, as well as other related patient and workload measurement documents, as required.
Provides clinical leadership to the Assessment Centre staff.
Current Extended Class registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Completed College of Nurses of Ontario approved Controlled Substances Education Program.
Program planning and evaluation skills an asset
Demonstrated professional leadership and ability to be innovative and creative environment
