Control Panel Assembler

Job Description

  • Responsible for reviewing parts picked, assembling control panels to supplied design drawings, documenting any manufacturing or BOM errors on the supplied drawings so that repeat builds would not have the same errors.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematic and single line drawings
  • Review wiring diagrams for accuracy
  • Determine wiring method, layout, and location
  • Ensure space allowance for arrangement of wiring and components
  • Mark wiring and components where required
  • Perform ring out test while wiring
  • Apply consistency in wiring and assembly method for units of the same order
  • Repair and modify any errors that are detected by test/ inspection.
  • Work to CSA, UL code and company quality requirements
  • Signing off on job traveler to validate completed operational step

  • 1 year to less than 3 years related experience as a technician
  • Completed Electrical/Electronics Technician Diploma preferred or completed Electrical or Electronics vocational program or 3-5 years or Commensurate Experience in Lieu of
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, point to point schematics and technical documents
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits and differentiate wire colours
  • Experience with power tools and with soldering / techniques
  • Knowledge of safety practices while performing daily tasks
  • CSA/ UL code familiarity
  • Organized, mechanically minded, quality oriented
  • Self-starter, excellent organizational, communication and problem solving skills
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision
