Safety & Environment Manager

We’re looking for a Safety & Environment Manager to lead and evolve our safety culture across all facilities. You’ll spend time on the manufacturing floor and in the office, working alongside teams at every level. You will coach, influence, and collaborate.
What you’ll do

Champion a positive, proactive safety culture across all facilities and leadership levels

Lead and mentor the safety team, supporting their growth and building organizational capability

Drive continuous improvement and training in safety programs, policies, and processes

Oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action follow-through

Lead or support preparation of responses and appeals related to safety violation citations

Stay current on regulatory requirements across our jurisdictions and keep the team informed

Conduct audits and inspections, analyze trends, and turn findings into actionable improvements

Serve as the key contact during regulatory inspections and compliance reviews

Deliver clear, timely communication to collaborators at all levels

Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timely reporting of safety and incident data

Embrace and leverage digital tools and emerging safety technologies to enhance how we work
What you bring

Education in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field (or equivalent experience)

5-7 years of safety experience, ideally in a unionized manufacturing environment

A professional safety designation is an asset

Strong knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation across jurisdictions

The ability to influence and engage people at all levels with confidence and credibility

Excellent communication and presentation skills - written, verbal, and in the room

A collaborative, service-oriented approach - you show up, follow through, and respond promptly

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Comfort with technology and an appetite for digital innovation
