Are you a reliable, hardworking individual looking to build a career in woodworking and millwork? We are a modern custom cabinet shop in Richmond, and we are looking for a dedicated team member to help us build and install high-quality residential and commercial projects.
Whether you are an experienced cabinet maker looking for a shop where you can take ownership of projects from start to finish, or you are eager to learn the trade from the ground up, we want to hear from you. We are fully willing to train the right person if you bring a strong work ethic, attention to detail and an open to learning attitude.
What You Will Do:
In our small shop, you won't just do one repetitive task all day. You will experience a wide variety of work, learning how a kitchen/architectural millwork goes from raw materials to a finished installation. Your daily tasks will include:
- Shop Production: Assisting with manual shop labor, preparing materials, hand sanding, and assembly.
- Machine Operation: Safely operating and feeding modern woodworking machinery and power tools(CNC, sliding table saw, veneer equipment, spraying, pressing).
- On-Site Installation: Travelling to job sites (primarily high-end residential, with some commercial) to assist with the final installation of cabinets and millwork.
- Shop Upkeep: Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized shop environment.
What We Are Looking For:
- Reliability and Commitment: You show up on time every day, ready to work, and take pride in doing a job right.
- Hands On Capability: Physically fit and comfortable with manual labor, heavy lifting, and standing for long periods.
- Detail Oriented: You notice the small details and care about the quality of the finished product.
- Experience (Asset, but not required): Previous experience in woodworking, carpentry, or construction is a plus. Cabinet making certifications (like a Red Seal) are welcome but not mandatory.
- Valid Driver’s License: Recommended (not mandatory) for travelling to on-site installations.
Why Work With Us?
- Learn the Trade: Gain hands on experience from someone in the woodworking business for 30+ years with modern machinery and learn how to build complex millwork projects from start to finish.
- Real Responsibility: In our small shop, your contribution matters. You are a valued team member, not just a number.
- No Weekend Work: Enjoy a consistent Monday-to-Friday schedule with your weekends free.
- Competitive, Growth-Based Pay: Starting at $20.00/hr for entry-level workers, with up to $35.00/hr for proven, experienced cabinet makers. We reward hard work and skill development.
