The successful candidate will lead the IT function while remaining hands-on with infrastructure, networks, servers, telecommunications, systems, and technology projects, ensuring technology is secure, reliable, scalable, and aligned with business needs.

The typical hiring range for this position is $105,000 to $115,000 per year and is specific to candidates located in Ontario. The salary will be determined based on your knowledge, skills, experience, and competencies.

IT Manager Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the day-to-day activities of the IT department, including team workload, performance, and professional development
- Manage and maintain IT infrastructure across multiple company locations
- Oversee network, server, telecommunications, hardware, software, and systems infrastructure
- Manage LAN/WAN environments, firewalls, VPNs, network connectivity, and multi-site infrastructure
- Oversee server design, implementation, migration, administration, optimization, and capacity planning
- Monitor system performance, reliability, availability, capacity, and overall infrastructure health
- Lead infrastructure upgrades, server moves, migrations, and technology implementation projects
- Act as the senior escalation point for complex network, server, hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute IT strategies aligned with business objectives
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and business processes through technology
- Assess and forecast hardware, software, telecommunications, and infrastructure requirements
- Manage technology procurement and coordinate with external vendors, consultants, and service providers
- Support information security, data integrity, system accessibility, and data protection initiatives
- Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, standards, and best practices
- Provide technical leadership and support to employees across multiple locations
IT Manager Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent relevant post-secondary education and experience may be considered
- 5+ years of hands-on IT infrastructure experience, including networks and servers
- 5+ years of progressively responsible IT experience within a networked environment supporting 50+ users
- Previous experience leading or supervising an IT team
- Strong hands-on knowledge of server design, migration, implementation, and administration
- Experience with LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, network connectivity, and multi-site infrastructure
- Knowledge of server hardware, enterprise applications, telecommunications infrastructure, and relational database environments
- Experience with IT infrastructure planning, capacity management, hardware and software procurement, and technology implementation
- Experience supporting a multi-site organization is strongly preferred
- Manufacturing or industrial environment experience is an asset
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to balance strategic IT priorities with hands-on technical troubleshooting and day-to-day operational requirements
- Strong customer-service mindset with the ability to communicate effectively with employees and leadership at all levels
- Self-motivated and collaborative with the ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel between company locations as required
- Ability to periodically lift and move IT equipment weighing up to approximately 50 lbs.
