Personal Support Worker / PSW in my house
I am a physically disabled male, 57 years old and 125 pounds. I have had ALS for 16 years and I am very weak. I have slurred weak speech, and I am unable to walk or move my arms. I am in a wheelchair or recliner all day, 10 am to 10 pm. I live with my wife who can't do it all as I can't be left alone.
I require a kind, reliable and attentive personal support worker (preferably female) with excellent english communication skills to assist with activities of daily living including:
personal grooming/hygiene, dressing, toileting, showering, range of motion exercises, transfers (I can partially weight bare but a hoyer lift is available), giving medications and food by feeding tube, and light housekeeping when I don't need you.
All duties will be performed by one person (yourself) after you are fully trained. PSW training or experience required.
Location: Northfield St W and Westmount Rd, Waterloo, Ontario
Start date: Immediate, June 6/7, 20/21, etc.
Hours:
10 am to 3pm or 4pm on Saturday and Sunday every other weekend
overnight shifts 11pm-7am
*Opportunity for more hours by covering for sick or vacation days.
Training will be provided. Vaccinated people are preferred. This is a part-time job. Paid by cheque only (no cash) through the direct funding program. No fragrances, please. We have a friendly dog.
