About our Client
Our client is a well-established manufacturer specializing in high-performance technical apparel and equipment used by military, marine, and emergency service professionals. Their products are designed for extreme environments where durability, waterproofing, and precision craftsmanship are critical.
They are currently seeking a Seam Sealing Associate to join their Burnaby production team. This is a hands-on manufacturing role focused on quality, precision, and teamwork in a fast-paced production environment.
Position Title: Seam Sealing Associate (No experience required – client will train)
Start Date: ASAP – Urgent Hire
End Date: 3–6-month contract with strong potential for permanent hire
Hours of Work: 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm (Evening Shift)
Pay Rate / Salary: $21–$22 per hour
Responsibilities
- Inspect sewn garments to identify seams requiring sealing based on product specifications
- Operate seam sealing and heat bonding equipment with proper adjustment of temperature, pressure, and airflow
- Apply seam tape, adhesive, or bonding materials using heat or manual tools
- Ensure all seams meet quality standards, including uniform sealing and defect-free finishes
- Conduct visual and manual inspections to ensure consistency and waterproof integrity
- Rework or repair defective seams to meet production requirements
- Follow production schedules and meet daily output targets
- Maintain and clean equipment, tools, and workstations to ensure safe operation
- Follow all safety procedures, SOPs, and quality control standards
- Collaborate with sewing operators, inspectors, and supervisors to resolve production issues
- Support cross-training across production tasks as required
- Promote a strong culture of quality, safety, and teamwork
Qualification
- No prior seam sealing experience required (full training provided)
- Previous experience in warehouse, production, manufacturing, or assembly environments is considered an asset
- Strong attention to detail and ability to visually inspect products for defects
- Good manual dexterity and comfort handling materials with precision
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions and production specifications
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a team-based environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods during shift
- Comfortable working in a production environment with moderate noise and the use of adhesives/heat tools
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as required
