Deer Creek Family Support and Therapy is a neurodiversity-affirming clinic that specializes in supporting individuals and families with autism, Pathological Demand Avoidance, burn-out, and significant regulation challenges.
Education/Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
- Active registration and in good standing with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT)
- A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in preferred, new graduates with relevant clinical placements will also be considered
- Knowledge of and experience with Pathological Demand Avoidance and burn-out
- Owning a car and travel is required
Duties/Responsibilities
- Administer and interpret formal and informal assessments to evaluate functional skills and impact of disability
- Complete home and/or clinic visits
- Design and implement evidence-based occupational therapy strategies in collaboration with families, using modeling, demonstrating, and parent coaching
- Deliver consultative services to families and work independently or with transdisciplinary teams including psychologists, speech-language pathologists, and play therapists
