4th Year Apprentice Industrial Formwork Carpenter
Location: Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta
Wage: $44.44/hour – 4th Year Apprentice Rate
Union: CLAC
Schedule: 5 days on / 2 days off
Hours: Monday–Thursday, 10-hour shifts | Friday, 8-hour shift
Start Time: 6:00 a.m.
Overtime: As per collective agreement
The Opportunity
Otter Wise Talent Solutions is recruiting 4th Year Apprentice Carpenters on behalf of our client for a major industrial construction project in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.
Our client is actively expanding its direct-hire workforce, and we are looking for experienced 4th Year Apprentices with a strong background in industrial construction and concrete formwork.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced apprentice looking for steady project work, competitive union wages and the opportunity to continue building their skills on a major Alberta industrial construction project.
Compensation & Benefits
- 4th Year Apprentice Wage: $44.44/hour

Schedule & Project Details
- 5 days on / 2 days off
- Monday–Thursday: 10-hour shifts
- Friday: 8-hour shift
- 6:00 a.m. start
- Fort Saskatchewan industrial project
- Parking located directly beside the work front — no need to bus into the work area
- No A&D pre-access testing currently required for local hires
What You'll Be Doing
- Interpret and apply information from construction drawings and specifications.
- Complete layout, including selecting materials, planning work sequences, measuring and marking.
- Prepare, erect and remove structural formwork for concrete foundations, walls, columns, beams and shafts.
- Cut, shape and assemble construction materials.
- Check completed work to ensure it is level, square, plumb and correctly positioned.
- Complete general carpentry activities, including framing, hoarding, doors and frames.
- Work collaboratively with journeypersons, supervisors and other trades.
- Follow all site-specific and industrial safety procedures.
What We're Looking For
- Registered 4th Year Carpenter Apprentice
- Previous industrial construction experience
- Previous concrete/formwork carpentry experience
- CSTS-20 Certificate
- Fall Protection
- Confined Space Entry Monitor
- Strong understanding of industrial construction safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25 kg
- Reliable transportation to and from the Fort Saskatchewan area
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
Location & Travel
We are primarily seeking Alberta-based candidates; however, we will consider qualified out-of-town candidates. Please note that there is currently no LOA or travel allowance provided in addition to the hourly rate.

You bring your 4th Year Apprentice status, industrial formwork experience, safety certifications, reliability and a strong work ethic. You know your way around an industrial construction site and are ready to contribute from day one while continuing to build toward your Journeyperson certification.
