One of our clients is seeking an experienced 310J Licensed Trailer Technician to step into a Lead Hand role within a busy, high-performing shop. This position is ideal for a skilled technician who also brings leadership ability, strong organizational skills, and comfort using basic computer systems for job tracking and documentation.
Responsibilities
· Lead and support a team of trailer technicians with daily workflow and task assignment
· Diagnose, repair, and maintain trailers including brakes, suspension, electrical systems, structural components, and van/refrigerated bodies
· Perform mechanical and welding repairs as required
· Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards
· Accurately complete repair orders, job notes, and digital documentation using basic computer systems
· Track job progress and support workflow coordination in the shop
· Identify additional maintenance or repair needs during inspections
· Assist with shop organization, scheduling support, and estimating/quotations
· Mentor junior technicians and promote a positive, team-oriented work environment
Requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent (required)
· Minimum 2+ years experience as a:
o Trailer Mechanic (required)
o Automotive or Heavy Equipment Mechanic (asset)
· Valid 310J certification required (310T or Red Seal considered)
· Previous lead hand or supervisory experience (strong asset)
· Strong diagnostic, mechanical, welding, and repair skills
· Comfortable using basic computer systems for job tracking, work orders, and reporting
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
· Ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment
· Strong communication and leadership skills
Pay: $48.00-$50.00 per hour
