Currently, our Outages Division has an Outage Execution Manager opportunity. As part of our Equipment Performance organization, Outages is accountable for the preparation of forced and planned outage schedules in order to meet the goals and objectives of our preventative maintenance program and life-cycle management plan.
The Outage Execution Manager is accountable for managing the preparation of detailed plans and coordinating execution of assigned outages.
This is a permanent, full-time position that offers competitive benefits, compensation and pension package and is located on-site in Tiverton, Ontario.
What will you be responsible for?
Provide support to the Department Manager in managing the Department in accordance with applicable legislation, policies, programs, procedures, and agreements
Perform role of Duty Outage Manager (DOM) during outages and be accountable for managing the execution of detailed plans and coordinating execution of assigned outages
Provide strong leadership during outages to Outage Control Center (OCC) staff
Work with line managers to remove barriers and ensure execution of the schedule
Liaise between the OCC and the Operations shift personnel
Perform look-ahead reviews of schedules, resource loading, and ensuring groups are ready to respond to perform those activities should the schedule move
Keep the OCC Operations log up to date and maintain a log of outstanding issues owners and commitment dates
Liaise between work management outages, work management on-line and the OCC
Manage outage scope additions/deletions using the Scope Review Panel process
Provides oversight on the Daily Outage Update Executive Noon Call Report.
Ensure that Outage Status Reports are prepared accurately and timely and review the report with the Executives
Monitor and challenge critical paths for opportunities and future enhancement of processes and procedures
Maintain up to date documentation, which lays down procedures for ensuring that correct and safe practices are followed and plant reliability and availability are maintained at a high standard
Ensure that all personnel in the Department are appropriately trained for the tasks delegated to them and have appropriate qualifications and authorizations
Provide day to day coordination
Ensure value for money and achievement of the business plan
Monitor performance and initiate any actions necessary to correct any adverse trends
Knowledge and Skills
In-depth knowledge of the principles of planning, scheduling and project management
High-level of credibility to influence large groups of professionals and experienced peers
Excellent analytical and organization skills
Ability to work shifts is considered an asset
Education and Experience
4-year university degree in a related field (Engineering preferred) or by having an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 8 years' experience planning, scheduling and project managing industrial outages (nuclear or power-related outage experience preferred)
3 + years of experience managing and mentoring staff
Operations background or experience preferred
Prior experience with Primavera 6 is an asset
Previous Duty Outage Manager or Outage Control Centre experience preferred
