Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Dishwasher/Prep Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient food service environment. The ideal candidate will assist with food preparation, support food safety standards, and ensure that dishes and kitchen areas are properly sanitized & cleaned. Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred, but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are equally valued. This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills in a fast-paced food industry setting.
Responsibilities
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and readiness for service
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, peelings, assembling ingredients, and portioning meals according to recipes and standards
- Support cooking activities by preparing ingredients
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment by following food safety protocols and proper handling procedures
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Follow all health and safety regulations to uphold sanitation standards in the food service area
- Assist with general kitchen cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, and waste disposal
Requirements
- Prior experience in food preparation, or working in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of food handling safety standards and proper hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaboration
- Willingness to learn new skills related to cooking and food safety procedures
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds when necessary
- Ability to work Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays (finished by 4pm)
