Summary
The Junior Metal Fabricator/Fitter is responsible for supporting the fabrication, fitting, and assembly of structural steel components in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, quality standards, and production schedules. The role performs material preparation, layout, fitting, assembly, and related fabrication activities while developing proficiency in structural steel fabrication processes and industry best practices.

Job Duties
- Read and interpret drawings, shop details, specifications, and work instructions.
- Measure, mark, and lay out materials for fabrication and assembly.
- Prepare structural steel components for fitting and assembly operations.
- Perform fitting and assembly activities in accordance with drawings and established procedures.
- Operate hand tools, measuring devices, and fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
- Assist with tack-up, alignment, and assembly of structural steel components.
- Verify dimensions and completed work against drawings and quality requirements.
- Identify and report quality, safety, or production concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Support production objectives and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Diploma, certificate, or working experience in Metal Fabrication.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, measurements, and technical information.
- Knowledge of basic fabrication tools, equipment, and safe work practices.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Previous fabrication, welding, construction, or trades experience considered an asset.
- CWB certification considered an asset.
