Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paint and coatings, and ensuring high-quality finishes on various products and structures. This role requires mechanical knowledge, familiarity with hand tools and power tools, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience with crane operation, forklift handling, welding, and machining is a plus. The Painter will play a vital role in maintaining the aesthetic and protective qualities of our products while adhering to safety standards and production schedules.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, masking, or applying primers to ensure proper adhesion of paint or coatings
- Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, spray guns, or other equipment with precision and attention to detail
- Operate machinery such as cranes and forklifts safely to move materials or equipment as needed
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and machining tools to assist in surface preparation or repairs
- Follow safety protocols related to chemical handling, equipment operation, and workspace organization
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining quality standards
- Conduct inspections of finished work for consistency, quality, and adherence to specifications
- Maintain a clean work environment by properly storing tools and disposing of waste materials
Qualifications
- Proven experience in painting within a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred
- Mechanical knowledge including familiarity with assembly processes and machining techniques
- Ability to operate cranes, forklifts, welding equipment, and power tools safely
- Strong understanding of basic math for measurements and calculations during prep work and application processes
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow efficiency
- Experience with hand tools and power tools used in surface preparation and finishing tasks
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills and attention to detail are essential for ensuring high-quality results
