Continuing and Professional Studies (CAPS) is looking for an outstanding individual to develop curriculum content and teaching materials for the Robotics and Industrial Applications program. This program will provide learners with an in-depth training to meet industry and employer needs for today’s modern manufacturing businesses focusing on automated manufacturing applications in many sectors including food and beverage, automated warehousing, automotive manufacturing, aerospace, pharmaceuticals, and others. Learners will also study the essentials of programming and operating industrial caliber robotics and visions systems that have been supplied by leading robotics manufacturers like ABB, Fanuc, and Cognex Vision Systems. The program will be delivered via our Learning Management System (Brightspace).
Sheridan’s Curriculum Development Subject Matter Experts (SME) are responsible for developing an effective learning environment for students while respecting their diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences, and individual learning styles.
What You’ll be Doing
Providing subject matter expertise for the development of new curriculum content to be built for online virtual and asynchronous delivery in alignment with course objectives, pedagogical approaches, and evaluation policies and procedures;
Setting clear and transparent expectations and instructions for content delivery to facilitators who will be providing student-centric academic support, and will be collaborating with CAPS Leadership, Support Staff, and Sheridan Student Services as required;
Designing active learning strategies and educational experiences using best practices, updating Learning Management System (SLATE) course site and Master sites, utilizing resources and supports to continually advance and improve scholarship of teaching and learning;
Providing clear formative and summative feedback frameworks to be used for objective evaluation of the students’ work;
Attending periodic CAPS and completing mandatory employee training.

The successful candidate will also meet the following requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in the related fields.
Knowledge of Fanuc is required.
Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in a related field of study is preferred. Relevant experience and expertise will be considered equivalent to formal education.
Curriculum development and design experience at the post-secondary level or equivalent experience as a trainer in industry preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
