Kent is looking for a Electrical Maintenance Technician to be based in Kitimat, BC
Your responsibilities:
The scope of work for an electrical maintenance technician generally includes the following:
· 1. Inspection and Testing: Regularly inspect and test electrical systems, equipment, and components to ensure proper functioning and identify potential issues.
· 2. Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, breakers, transformers, and other components.
· 3. Installation: Install new electrical systems, fixtures, and equipment according to specifications and codes.
· 4. Troubleshooting: Diagnose electrical problems and malfunctions using testing equipment and analytical methods.
· 5. Compliance and Safety: Ensure all work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes and safety standards. Adhere to safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
· 6. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities. Document any changes or modifications to electrical systems.
· 7. Upgrades and Improvements: Recommend and implement upgrades or improvements to enhance system performance and efficiency.
· 8. Collaboration: Work with other technicians, engineers, and contractors to coordinate maintenance activities and resolve complex issues.
· 9. Emergency Response: Provide timely response to electrical emergencies and outages, including troubleshooting and restoring service.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
Qualification/ Skills Requirement:
- Minimum 5+ years of Commissioning experience.
- Trained and familiar with the System Completions database, including B and C check sheets and punches.
- Knowledge of best practices and procedures in line with large-scale industrial projects.
- Fully trained in all Safety related subjects outlined by the Company, such as Environment Concerns, Safe Operations, Emergency Response, JHA, PTW, and MOC.
- Fully trained in Incident & Injury Free and fully understand the expectations, duties, and responsibilities
- Full understanding of Permit to Work systems, able to sign for work permits, lead the Toolbox Talk and ensure technicians and trainees fully understand the JHA.
- Fully trained in Schematic and Single Line Diagram reading.
- Possess basic computer training such as Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Fully trained in using hand tools and operating test equipment.
- Knowledge of P&ID and instrument loop diagrams.
