As the Shift Lead at Fortify Foods/Shop, you will oversee daily operations in our eatery and retail shop, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow among the team. You will coordinate staff duties while maintaining high standards of service and food quality. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintain an overview of the eatery/shop operations.
- Ensure exceptional customer service, addressing customer inquiries and concerns promptly.
- Oversee staff daily activities, providing coverage as necessary.
- Conduct daily briefings to communicate goals, expectations, and tasks for the day.
- Implement training and coaching for team members to enhance their service skills.
- Monitor food preparation and service areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas.
- Ensure all team members follow protocols related to food safety, cleanliness, and customer service.
- Support team members in completing their tasks and address any issues that arise promptly. Assisting in food preparation and service as needed.
- Performing basic housekeeping to ensure all areas are clean and well-stocked.
AD-HOC DUTIES
- Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance eatery services and operations.
- Undertake additional tasks to support overall operations, such as training new staff and participating in team meetings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / TARGET EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a food service or hospitality environment.
- At least 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience in a related field is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This role requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift. The employee may frequently lift up to 25 pounds without assistance and may occasionally need to assist in lifting or moving heavier items.
Other Important Details:
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- Must be authorized to work in Canada.
