To support our recent and ongoing growth, JLR’s team is looking to add Electrical Technologists to augment and round out our team. We’re looking for talented and creative people to support both business development and delivery activities, and proven or emerging leaders to develop and manage our clients and projects. The successful candidate will have 5-10 years of related experience.

Roles and Responsibilities
Work directly with engineers and technologists as part of an integrated multidisciplinary project team at all stages, from concept design to final commissioning;
Apply fundamentals and engineering tools to design normal and emergency power distribution, communication, life safety, lighting, instrumentation, and control systems;
Prepare electrical bid, and construction drawings and documents for industrial and commercial projects;
Assist engineers and technologists with project execution during all project phases;
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, architects, and sub consultants on multidisciplinary projects;
Communicate with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders; and
Travel between JLR offices from time to time to meet the needs of various projects and/or for training purposes.
Skills and Qualifications
Must have a diploma in Electrical Technology from a recognized post-secondary school;
OACETT designation or eligibility for designation;
Minimum of 5 – 10 years of related experience since graduating from an accredited program;
Sound understanding of engineering fundamentals to resolve new challenges;
Related electrical engineering experience in commercial and industrial buildings;
Proficiency in the current versions of Revit and/or AutoCAD software;
3D drafting experience would be considered an asset;
Good understanding of drawing principles and standards;
Ability to produce quality deliverables and to monitor project tasks;
Strong analytic, oral, and written communication skills;
Bilingualism would be considered an asset;
Driven self-starter with the ability to work in a team environment; and
Valid Driver’s License.
