The ITS Support Assistant is responsible for providing technical support with various classroom technologies to facilitate the teaching of in person and hybrid classes. The ITS Support Assistant liaises with York University Information Technology (UIT), Schulich Information Service & Technology (IS&T) and external suppliers to resolve incidents and support system upgrades.
Some post secondary education. Education in a related technology field is preferred.
One (1) year experience providing technical support services. Experience working in an academic environment is preferred.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills including ability to provide detailed information and answer questions in a clear concise professional manner. Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to follow schedules closely and provide required support. Ability to deal calmly, courteously and effectively with others. Technical Skills: Microsoft Windows 10, macOS Big Sur, Montereyo Microsoft Office Suite o Wired and wireless network connectivity (802.11 wireless networks and Ethernet)o Computer hardware, software, and peripheralso Video conferencing systems (such as Zoom and MS Teams)o Cameras (such as PTZ cameras and webcams)o Microphones (wired and wireless)o Learning Management Systems (such as Canvas)o Enterprise Video Content Management Systems (such as Echo360 and Panopto)
