Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience working on roofing projects, with a strong focus on safety, quality craftsmanship, and efficiency. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse roofing installations and repairs, contributing to the protection and aesthetic appeal of residential and commercial buildings. Candidates should be comfortable working at heights and performing physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain roofing systems using a variety of materials such as shingles, metal, and membrane roofing
- Measure and cut roofing materials accurately based on project specifications and blueprints
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during all phases of roofing projects
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project plans to ensure proper installation
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment to facilitate efficient work flow
- Apply caulking and sealing techniques to ensure waterproofing and energy efficiency
- Assist with carpentry tasks related to roof framing or structural support when necessary
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and debris removal
- Follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries at the job site
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools such as hammers, saws, drills, and measuring tapes
- Construction experience with a focus on roofing or related trades
- Carpentry skills for framing or structural adjustments as needed
- Knowledge of caulking techniques for waterproofing applications
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds or more)
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately
- Maintenance Person experience is a plus, demonstrating versatility across various construction tasks
- Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and physical stamina for demanding outdoor work environments
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00-$32.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
