General Manager, Mountain

Reporting to the Senior Director of Production, West, the General Manager will be responsible for managing, planning, directing, organizing, coordinating, and leading the operational activities for our 55,200 square foot, state-of-the-art production facility in Mountain View County, Alberta. This Manager will lead multiple teams and will ensuring quality and consistency of service delivery, and will focus on higher level planning, forecasting, and general business activities of this facility.

Ensure regulatory adherence at all levels of operation
Coordinate activity between department supervisors to ensure operational function while planning and establishing work schedules and production sequences to meet production goals
Participate in audits and liaise with government inspectors to maintain regulatory adherence
Contribute to research for new and existing technologies for their suitability in a cannabis production space
Assess ongoing regulatory suitability and functionality of all facility processes and procedures - establish work with the Quality Assurance department to revise SOPs and related forms
Directly or through supervisors ensure employee schedule is maintained
Review and approves all time off requests for Supervisors
Assist in conflict resolution at all appropriate levels within the facility
Support and nurture a team environment, identify gaps and weaknesses and allocate human resources accordingly
Understand and follow all related SOPs and procedures to GMP standards
Complete all required documentation using good documentation practices
Lead all weekly Team meetings

Ability to identify measures of performance and actions needed to improve performance to achieve organizational goals and objectives - Up to and including delegation, monitoring, and adjudication of projects, initiatives, and staff
Above average knowledge of word-processing software, spreadsheet software, email software
Ability to establish excellent business relationships with key suppliers, clients, business associates and stakeholders
Ability to motivate, inspire, and provide feedback to employees, as well as accepting and acting on feedback from employees
Ability to prioritize tasks and use time effectively in order to set action plans to achieve business targets
Ability to create a positive, safe and productive team atmosphere
Mechanically inclined and able to apply both external and internal resources to resolve any challenges
Experience at responding to complex and stressful situations and resolving issues positively
High degree of ability to think strategically and problem solve
Able to follow and uphold standard operating procedures precisely and consistently; detail oriented
Accountable for results, strives to meet and exceed expectations
Operations excellence and continuous improvement oriented
Ability to sort, prioritize, retain and analyze information
Experience in dispatching/logistics a plus
Fluent in both French and English is a plus

Greater than 5 years in a managerial capacity in a manufacturing environment
3-5 years project management and operations excellence experience a plus

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Commerce, Business Administration, Engineering or other relevant discipline or comparable experience
