We are seeking an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to join our team.
Qualifications:

Responsibilities:
- Provide general support and assistance to Ops managers
- Maintain current H&S stature and attend training sessions as needed
- Maintain regular updates on COVID-19, update policies accordingly
- Maintain regular updates on OH&S regulations code and act reflect changes in the
OH&S Safety manual
- Participate in H&S monitoring activities
- Leason with OH&S and WCB site visits
- Promote incident & accident prevention in the workplace & at home
- Ongoing informal inspections, regular visibility in production areas
- Participate in annual COR Audit
- Maintain relevant H&S documentation and records update safety manual accordingly
- Monthly formal workplace inspections for ALL locations
- Coordinate 3rd party yearly Fire Extinguisher inspections,
- Initiate emergency evacuations drills (fire chemical, severe weather ETC)
- Compile statistics monthly
- Assist in the development and implementation of JHA's & SOP's
- Ongoing communications of relevant H&S program updates
- Arrange H&S training for company personnel (first aid, ESL)
- Maintain H&S training records and ensure training certificates are current for all
employees
- If required assist with near miss & incident investigations, root causes analysis and the implementation of corrective actions
- Provide new staff safety orientation/contractor/visitor
- Work with vendors & specialty safety supplies when required
- Draft contractor list to WCB and monitor for coverage
- Yearly contractor letter of compliance
- Participate breathing air tests as per
- Coordinate Hearing tests & Pulmonary testing
- Manage specialized/compile list of required PPE
- Schedule and attend H&S committee meetings
- General administrative duties (Comply Wks, ISNet)
- Manage scheduling of safety meetings, both on & off sites (Prepare meeting topic)
- Provide Human Resource Guidance / human rights / labor laws
Experience:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
Note: Training development and fabrication are not relevant to the job of an Occupancy Specialist.

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
