Position Overview
Stouffville Music Room is a growing and vibrant music school dedicated to providing high-quality music education in a fun and inspiring environment. We are looking for a skilled and passionate Vocal Teacher to join our team and inspire the next generation of musicians.
This part time opportunity is perfect for students, individuals looking for side work, or anyone who has the desire to share the gift of music! MUST be able to teach from our studio in Stouffville. The ideal candidate has a strong background in music, loves working with children and parents, and can create a fun, engaging, and safe learning environment catered to individual student interests and needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead weekly private or semi private music classes
- Create lesson plans tailored to each student’s learning style and goals
- Foster a positive, welcoming environment for both children and parents/caregivers
- Prepare and execute engaging and educational lessons and activities
- Communicate clearly with parents about class activities and their child’s progress
- Encourage musical growth and foster a love for singing
Qualifications
- Ability to commit to a consistent schedule during the school year
- Proficiency in vocal performance and music theory (proficiency in other instruments is a plus!)
- Prior teaching experience (private or group lessons) preferred
- Ability to work with beginner to intermediate students of various ages
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with both kids and adults
- Reliable, professional, and passionate about teaching music
Schedule & Compensation
- Schedule: As an independent contractor, you are fully in charge of which teaching hours you would like to open up. We are looking for a teacher that is available on weekday/weekend afternoons between 3-6pm.
- Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience
