The Service Transformation Office has a mandate to (i) manage the annual UniForum activities, including data collection and service satisfaction survey, (ii) manage several end-to-end service improvement projects, (iii) support the identification and implementation of an appropriate service delivery model(s) that best meets the needs of the University, and (iv) provide reports, status updates and metrics to senior leaders to demonstrate achievement of transformation objectives.

The Data Analyst works collaboratively as part of the Service Transformation Office, assisting with planning and implementing business transformation projects and objectives. The position provides back and front-end data analysis, working closely with key stakeholders to support several University wide end-to-end service improvement projects tasked with identifying opportunities for efficiencies and systems implementation.

Undergraduate degree in business, engineering or computer science.

4+ years of progressive experience in business analysis and/or process re- engineering roles with project responsibilities and a good understanding of project management methodologies, work-flow/process design and re-engineering. Proven experience in process and system analysis, documentation/validation of business requirements from business users and functional specification requirements using interviews, documented analysis, tasks and workflow analysis. Experience working in higher education environment, with familiarity with administrative service and academic units is an asset. Experience analyzing quantitative and qualitative data with an understanding of experimental design and statistics. Experience with PeopleSoft and eReports systems to understand and extract and analyze appropriate data. Experience working in a unionized environment.

Able to manage and respond to data requirements for multiple simultaneous projects. Ability to create meaningful information and reports from raw data. Financial modeling and spreadsheet skills with excellent cost/benefit analysis skills. Analytical, planning, organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands. Highly motivated self-starter with good problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain a high level of strict confidentiality. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data analytics, data visualization, and data reporting. Effective time management; can multi-task and prioritize tasks across multiple projects. Exceptional attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a contributing team member. Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with BI tools (e.g. Tableau), databases (e.g. SQL) and statistical analysis software (e.g. R, SPSS, SAS) an asset.
