Now Hiring: Dual-Rate Security Guard
ACE Casino Blackfoot – Calgary, AB
Frontline security role. Relief supervisor opportunity. Future leadership pathway.
ACE Casino Blackfoot is hiring a Dual-Rate Security Guard to join our Security team.
This is not an entry-level security position. We are looking for a dependable, mature, and professional security guard who can perform regular frontline duties most shifts, while also stepping into a relief supervisor role when operational coverage requires it.
The successful candidate will primarily work as a Security Guard and will act as Security Supervisor only when assigned. This position is ideal for someone who already has strong security fundamentals and wants to build toward a future full-time supervisory role in a live casino environment.
About the Role
The Dual-Rate Security Guard supports the daily safety, security, and service standards of ACE Casino Blackfoot. Most shifts will involve regular Security Guard duties, including patrols, guest assistance, incident response, access control, and report writing.
When assigned as relief supervisor, the Dual-Rate Security Guard will be expected to provide calm leadership, clear communication, and effective shift coordination. This includes helping direct the security response to incidents, maintaining team accountability, supporting communication between Security, Surveillance, and Operations, and ensuring department standards are followed.
This role requires flexibility. Scheduling is based on business needs and may include days, nights, weekends, holidays, and rotational shift patterns.

- Identify and report suspicious activity, unsafe conditions, policy violations, and operational concerns.
- Support removals, refusals of entry, and other security interventions when required.
- Complete accurate occurrence reports, incident reports, and other required documentation.
- Communicate clearly over radio and in person with Security, Surveillance, and other departments.
- Maintain professionalism, composure, and sound judgment during routine and high-pressure situations.
Relief Supervisor Duties
When assigned to act as Security Supervisor, the Dual-Rate Security Guard will also be responsible for:
- Coordinating the Security team’s response to incidents during the shift.
- Providing clear direction to guards during medical, behavioural, safety, or emergency situations.

- Accurate and timely report writing.
- Good radio discipline and situational awareness.
- Sound judgment during conflict, medical incidents, and operational disruptions.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure.
- The ability to lead respectfully without creating distance from the team.
- A willingness to accept feedback, coaching, and increased responsibility.
- The maturity to move between peer-level guard duties and assigned supervisory authority without friction.
Requirements
- Minimum one year of security experience required; previous gaming security experience is a strong asset.
