Heavy Duty Mechanic – Off‑Road Equipment (Shop Based)
Location: Nisku, AB
Position: Full‑Time | Shop Based | Home Every Night

Chemco is hiring an experienced Heavy Duty Off‑Road Mechanic for a shop‑based role at our Nisku head office, supporting a civil construction fleet that is actively maintained — not run to failure.
This position offers steady shop work, predictable hours, strong parts and operations support, and no field rotations or remote travel.
Work Schedule & Hours
- Multiple shift options available, including straight days
- Flexible scheduling options — we will work with the right candidates to match family and personal commitments
- No overnight or multi‑day travel
Equipment You’ll Work On
Primarily CAT and John Deere, including:
- Dozers
- Articulated Dump Trucks
- Excavators
- Scrapers
- Civil construction support equipment
What You’ll Be Doing
- Shop‑based diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on off‑road equipment
- Preventative maintenance, inspections, and planned repairs
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Complete service and repair documentation accurately
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe shop
- Work within Chemco’s established safety systems
What We’re Looking For
- Journeyman Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (Off‑Road) or equivalent experience
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Experience with CAT and John Deere civil equipment preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a shop team
- Safety‑focused with pride in workmanship
Also Considering
While this role is ideally suited to experienced mechanics, we are also open to speaking with:
- Apprentice Heavy Duty Technicians with relevant off‑road experience
- Parts personnel with heavy equipment experience who can support mechanic and shop activities
