Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Ag Mechanic to join our dynamic team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide variety of tractors (130 hp and smaller). Duties
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on agricultural and acreage tractors, and implements.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to identify root causes efficiently
- Conduct welding and fabrication tasks to repair or modify equipment components as needed if possible.
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely to disassemble, repair, or assemble machinery parts
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used for accountability and future reference
- Assist with electrical system diagnostics and repairs on various machinery to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with team members and clients regarding equipment status and repair timelines
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in heavy equipment operation and maintenance is an asset
- Dealership experience is highly preferred for familiarity with brand-specific machinery such as Tym, Ls, Landini, McCormick and others.
- Hands-on experience working with tractors, forklifts, and ag related equipment
- Proficiency in reading schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams
- Skilled in welding is an asset, as well as assembly work, and the use of power tools and hand tools
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safety protocols
- Knowledge of automotive repair techniques applicable to farm machinery and heavy equipment
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills with a focus on customer service when interacting with team members or clients
